Dr Albert Aralar

Dr Albert Aralar completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1990. In 1998 he completed his Ophthalmology specialty training in Queensland.  Further specialist training was undertaken at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and  The Royal Surrey County Hospital after he was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Bursary in 1999. He spent the next two years in Vancouver, Canada where he completed two Fellowships with the University of British Columbia and went on to complete a post-graduate Vitreoretinal fellowship in 2002.

He is currently appointed as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Queensland Eye Hospital, St Andrews War Memorial Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital.

He also has a place on the Medical Advisory Committee of the Queensland Eye Hospital and is the past Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the PAH.

He is currently one of the investigators with the Ozurdex Study which is taking place Terrace Eye Centre.

Dr Aralar joined the Terrace Eye Centre group in 2002. He has special interests in retinal diseases / surgery including age related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes and diabetic retinopathy.
